We were a little concerned about the weather as Thundershowers were forecast. However, the weather turned out to be great in the end, if a little cool in the morning for the Adult session. The adult class was on the beach just before 8am. After a short jog and stretching they practiced Sanchin kata in the fresh sea air - Sanchin is an exercise which requires deep breathing so the beach was a perfect setting. Then some kata, some conditioning drills, and some take-towns in the soft sand. After walking back to the dojo the class relaxed over coffee and pastries (and Sensei Mike's superb fruit bars). Thank you to Bill and Cindy for taking the photos.
About 30 BBC students attended their session - After a two minute walk to the beach, students enjoyed the fresh ocean air where they practice kata, competed in team races, and practiced some fun self-defense techniques in the sand. Oh yes, and they all enjoyed a popsicle on their return to the dojo. Thank you to Catherine Polk for taking the photos (please click below to view).
